Paradox Junction has plenty of stuff yelling for your attention, but the first time you spot a Loot Cyst you'll probably stop dead anyway. It's hard not to. That steady pulse, the wet glow, the way it sits there like it's waiting for you to mess up. If you're trying to prep for higher rounds (or you're warming up in a CoD BO7 Bot Lobby to get your routes clean), learning how these cysts work is basically required, because they're not just set dressing in the present-day Nuketown areas.

How you actually open one

You don't "use" a Loot Cyst. You feed it. Pick a cyst, hold that space, and start dropping zombies right on top of its range. You'll see the pull effect when it's counting your kills, and that's your only real confirmation you're doing it right. Miss the radius and you're wasting ammo. Drift too far while training and it can stall out, which feels brutal when you were one or two kills away. Most of the time it's roughly a dozen kills, give or take, but the bigger issue is tempo. If you've gotta reload, plate up, or you get shoved off your line, that little pause can cost you progress, so plan your magazine swaps and keep a safe lane open.

Keeping the pace without getting trapped

The cyst wants you to tunnel-vision, and that's exactly how players get folded. The trick is to build a small loop that keeps zombies flowing through the cyst zone without pinning you against a wall. A lot of people try to stand right beside it. Bad idea. You want to be close enough for kills to count, but far enough to dodge a lunge and still have room to turn. Use whatever gives you control: a weapon with quick handling, something that staggers, anything that buys you half a second. And if you're playing co-op, call roles. One person farms the kills, the other keeps strays off your back. Simple, but it works.

Soul Trials and the real pressure

When the main Easter Egg pushes you into the Soul Trial section, the vibe changes fast. Now it's multiple cysts, and it's not just filling them—it's protecting them while you do it. Zombies start feeling like they're actively trying to ruin your setup, and you can't be everywhere at once. The clean approach is to order your team: 1) claim lanes, 2) rotate together, 3) only split if you've got a reliable revive plan. If you're solo, pick the cyst that has the safest exits first and don't be stubborn about abandoning a fill attempt if the spawn pressure gets ugly.

Why you bother in the first place

The rewards are the reason these things matter: salvage, perks, and the kind of high-tier drops that make your mid-game feel steady instead of shaky. If you're chasing the Blundergat, certain cysts are part of that path, so you'll be doing this whether you love it or not. And yeah, those odd-colored cysts can feel like side-egg bait—higher risk, better payoff, usually when the map decides you've been comfortable for too long. If you're short on time and just want to keep your loadout progression moving, it also helps to know where players go for boosts and items outside the match, and sites like RSVSR are often mentioned for game currency and services that cut down the grind without you living in the Mystery Box.
